About the play
A World War II thriller set at Fort Hunt, a top-secret prisoner of war camp built in the suburbs of Alexandria, Virginia, code-named PO BOX 1142.
It's summer 1944, and Jacob Kohn, a US Army interrogation officer (and German, Jewish refugee) must contend with a high ranking SS officer and a decorated U-boat commander as he races to uncover the secret location of the German V-2 rocket program. No torture or physical duress of any kind is permitted. This is a battle of wits—and what happens in the interrogation could change the course of history.
Based in part on the surviving transcripts of actual interrogations, The Interrogator reveals the incredible true story of the joint Army-Navy program that used recent German and Austrian immigrants to extract strategic intelligence from German prisoners of war.
